If you’re searching for the perfect wedding venue in the South West of France, look no further than Chateau Destinee. Nestled in the stunning Dordogne countryside, this breathtaking château, officially named Château Destinée, offers a unique blend of elegance, history, and charm.
We had the privilege of working as wedding photographers and videographers at this venue for the stylish wedding of Caitlin and Harry. From the warm hospitality of the château’s owner, Linda, to the unforgettable details of the event, this wedding truly stood out as one of the highlights of the season.
Why Choose Chateau Destinee as Your Wedding Venue?
Chateau Destinee is an extraordinary wedding venue, newly restored and recognized as part of UNESCO’s heritage. Its vast, private grounds create an atmosphere of complete seclusion and serenity. From its charming courtyard, where couples often host their wedding dinners, to its picturesque pool and multiple ceremony locations, the château offers endless possibilities for your dream wedding.
What makes Château Destinée even more special is its separate event space for dancing, ensuring celebrations can continue late into the night without disturbing anyone. Whether you’re envisioning an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, this venue is perfect for any style of wedding.
A Wedding Inspired by Toile de Jouy
Every wedding has its own personality, and Caitlin and Harry’s big day was no exception. They chose a palette of white, blue, and light blue, incorporating the timeless Toile de Jouy pattern into their design.
Inspired by the one-color motif famously loved by Christian Dior, their decor was unlike anything we’d seen at a wedding before. The patterned fabric was used to adorn the round tables in the courtyard of Chateau Destinee, creating a stunning yet cozy ambiance.
The blue Toile de Jouy tablecloths were beautifully complemented by small bottles of yellow Limoncello as guest favors, while gold cutlery added a luxurious touch to the overall design. It was an elegant and creative way to bring a historic pattern into a modern wedding setting.
A Stylish Couple from London
Caitlin and Harry traveled from London to tie the knot at Chateau Destinee, bringing their impeccable style with them. Caitlin wore a chic wedding gown with a stunning bow detail at the back and practical side pockets—a nod to the latest trends in bridal fashion. Harry complemented her look with an elegant white jacket, black trousers, and a bow tie, creating the perfect harmony in their attire.
The bridesmaids wore blue Toile de Jouy dresses, perfectly matching the wedding’s theme. This choice added a whimsical, yet sophisticated touch to the celebration, and we couldn’t help but admire how unique and cohesive the overall look was.
A Day Filled with Emotion
The wedding day began with joy and excitement. Caitlin spent her morning laughing with her bridesmaids in the château’s spacious, light-filled bridal suite, sipping champagne and exchanging heartfelt gifts. Harry, on the other hand, shared touching moments with his friends, including reading a letter from Caitlin, which brought tears to his eyes.
The Wedding Ceremony : A Magical Setting
The ceremony took place in the château’s enchanting outdoor space, situated between the front façade and the pool, under the shade of ancient trees. Guests arrived via a magical wisteria tunnel, which, even without its blooms, created a romantic and dreamlike atmosphere. One of the most memorable moments was Harry’s emotional reaction to seeing Caitlin for the first time. His heartfelt tears moved everyone present, and we were honored to capture this beautiful moment on both photo and video.
An Evening of Music, Dance, and Celebration
Following the ceremony, the couple and their guests enjoyed a lively cocktail hour, with a seating plan cleverly displayed on a mirror. Caitlin and Harry made a grand entrance to the dinner reception, accompanied by live music from the roaming wedding band "Funky fresh", who played their iconic rendition of "My Girl".
This song became the anthem of the evening, echoing through the night as guests danced, laughed, and celebrated in the château’s courtyard. Later, Caitlin changed into a stylish mini dress for the dance party, which continued well into the early hours of the morning in the château’s dedicated event space.
